maybe it's because it's so dang hot that if i were a bug i would follow my dog's lead and find some cold concrete to lie on instead.
so i bought a house. and the house has a garden. and i have a black thumb determined to be green. with a devious dog hellbent on destroying the universe (or at least our gardens). so we shall who wins this war.

nope, not a Japanese Bettle. You're safe for now.
Definitely not a Japanese Beetle, but not sure what it is.
Is it clear around the edges? It could be a tortoise beetle - I know they can do a number on tomatoes but I'm not sure about nasturtiums.
its been really hot here, and i have been hiding in the shade.I have a few bugs here too, but my main enemy seems to have abated.Slug damage is hardly noticable now.I have two bird feeders so i hope they are clearing the slow slugs with daylight bombing raids!
Have you abandoned blogging Rachelle? I just wanted to let you know I picked cherry tomatoes today!
very happy for you and sad for me. mine are large cherry to they may take longer and yes, they are still green. well, i have ONE that is tinged with this orange/green color. the good news is the green zebras are looking fab.
